The Block

South Clinton's best kept culinary secrets

Rochester has some major culinary neighborhoods: Village Gate, Park Ave., The East End, and the Public Market District, to name a few. As far as block-by-block restaurant diversity and quality, South Clinton really knocks it out of the park.

Walking down South Clinton is a food tour around the world. From start to finish, you can go across the globe, from traditional Americana fare to Ethiopian, Indian, Chinese, and Japanese cuisines. Two specialty shops also lie two blocks apart in this neighborhood that offer ingredients you won't find anywhere else in downtown Rochester. Most of these establishments have called South Clinton home for many years, which is why these are many Rochesterians' favorite restaurants.
